Artist Statement
I paint to explore the intersection of personal authenticity and its interaction in the world. For me, painting is a mystery which flows intuitively from inspiration that links my mind and heart together. Informed by my love of words and text and the ability to use them with minimal simplicity, my paintings honour beauty and forms which integrate in and out of raw, wild and powerful markmaking that throw the original peaceful subtlety into a graffiti -like contemporary world. My intention is to provide evocative art that changes the energy of its surroundings and enables observers to form their own relationship with the work. My practice is complete when I leave nothing off of the canvas, but the tension between the spaces, the paint and the marks
that feel entirely profound.
